About
Mark Pollock, B.Sc.(Hons), Dip.T.P., M.R.T.P.I. is a qualified planner who has been involved with various aspects of planning and regeneration for nearly 30 years. During the last 20 years Mark has been based in Somerset and has experience of major development and infrastructure projects.
Mark has recent and ongoing experience of planning for a major energy infrastructure project and associated development, particularly around defining impacts and mitigation and then preparing suitable obligations as part of Section 106 agreements.
His experience in planning, regeneration and economic development includes being the lead Director for several large multi-million pound projects linked to town visioning exercises. Delivery of these projects on time and within budget has required well developed skills in project management, partnership working and leadership.
Mark is experienced in working with communities, Local Strategic Partnerships and joint ventures between the public and private sectors. His community development experience includes planning for real techniques, town centre management and being lead officer for an Area Community Safety Action Panel.

Delivery of Major Infrastructure Projects
Expertise and experience of development management and major development/infrastructure project delivery, including gaining planning permission, related appeals, defining impacts and mitigation, Section 106 obligations, policy interpretation, LDF processes, project management and funding.

Planning Policy Context
Clear strategic understanding of local, national and international planning policies including environmental and socio-economic assessment techniques, best practice and regulation.

Low Carbon Economy
Experience in developing a low carbon economy, including low carbon energy generation.

Project & Programme Management
Considerable experience of both project and programme management for major development, regeneration and infrastructure projects.
